STEPN is a blockchain-based cryptocurrency that issues its own token for in-game use. Users may use SOL to buy any STEPN goods in its marketplace, but the game itself is based on Green Satoshi Tokens (GST), which users will acquire. GMT, the governance token, is more valuable than GST and is utilized in endgame content. Users can get GMT as they level up. Users have the option of earning GST or GMT depending on the type of footwear they wear.

STEPN is a GPS-based game that records your moves and steps. Users must first purchase a pair of virtual sneakers before they can begin jogging. These are minted NFTs, so users may resell them on the market and perhaps earn to get a better pair. These sneakers have their unique statistics and rarity. The statistics influence how long users can run before having to recharge. They can also provide users a speed boost, allowing them to earn more GST while jogging.
