To ensure balance in the game, the developers have introduced five core fighting archetypes. The first archetype is the all-around assassin, which is the most balanced and flexible archetype. This character has no real strong suits but is slightly above average in all battle stats. The second archetype is the power character, which has high attack power and weight stats. This character moves slower than most characters on the ground and in the air but has less recovery as well as less knockback due to a high-weight stat. The third archetype is the range character, which has high movement stats and features a series of projectile-based attacks. This archetype is used for zoning and evading melee attacks and for allowing the player to deal damage without being attacked. The fourth archetype is the speed character, which has very high movement speeds and above-average attack power. These characters often rush and pressure opponents, forcing them to react and retreat. Speed characters are good at evading attacks and outmaneuvering opponents to land combos. Low-weight stat means that these characters are knocked back further but also have a better recovery. The fifth archetype is the defense character, which has high recovery and movement stats. These characters also have high-weight stats, allowing them to tank knockbacks, but their high recovery saves them at low health/high percentages.
