Players take on the role of Goya, a mouse who collects resources, tends to animals, gardens, and fishes, and interacts with NPCs in the game’s universe. The game is played in a third-person perspective, with a fixed camera axis, similar to Animal Crossing, and is designed for an immediate learning experience, with intuitive touch controls. In Harmonia, the core gameplay revolves around taking care of animals, which requires players to find and feed them. The game world of Harmonia is designed to have a 15-minute day and night cycle, which affects various game mechanics, including the production of resources. This time cycle is chosen to provide players with the flexibility to play the game at their convenience in shorter periods of time.

In Harmonia: Goya’s Land, players can diversify their gameplay by planting vegetables and going fishing. Market gardening can yield up to seven vegetables from a single seed, but requires daily attention for a week to ensure the plant’s growth. Neglecting the plant results in it withering, and after seven days, it dies. Fishing in the game is similar to Animal Crossing, with visual, sound, and sensory cues guiding players to reel in their catch at the right moment.
