What is F1 Delta Time

F1 Delta Time is bringing you the adrenaline-pumping racing adventures on the blockchain. The game works on Ethereum and currently has a developer team of Animoca Brands.  There are plenty of tokens in the game, including NFTs.
F1 Delta Time has acquired the rights for the name and doesn’t work as a simulator racing game. While it is not real-time racing, it comes pretty close to a blockchain game. The visuals are stunning, and the gameplay indeed feels like an original game.

How to play

Once you are on the official website, you will first have to log in to the game. After that, there are keys available, ranging in rarity. The most common key will cost the least, while EPIC and LEGENDARY keys will cost higher.

These come with a car and a driver, at least. So, there’s no need to worry about investing extra. Yes, you need a car and a driver to race in the game.

  • Apart from the driver and a car, you will have to invest in many other NFTs. These include wheels, fuel, and many other components. Once you buy all these, you will be set to race.
  • Once the race begins, you will have the top view (Sky view) from where you will control the car. There will be keys on the keyboard for you to press. Meanwhile, arrows will appear in the game to guide you regarding what you need to do.
  • If you follow the instructions like pressing Accelerator, Brakes, and Boos at the right time, you will score better. The objective would be to match or beat the given time for the lap. After that, you will rank up on the leaderboard.
There are different types of cars that will suit different weather conditions. So, those will also play a role. Thankfully, you can have as many NFTs (Car, driver, components) and customise them.

F1 Delta Time tokens

The developers have done a commendable job at providing different kinds of NFTs. These include cars, drivers, trinkets or decorative items, and many of the racing-related NFTs. You can collect these and trade them at the marketplace. There are many rare NFTs that have sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The game also introduced the Crates system on February 25th 2020. These crates worked similar to loot boxes and random packs with random NFTs for players to unlock. Fortunately, each crate came with one of each type of NFT, at least. Thus, making them worthwhile.

Apart from the main five NFTs, there were also many equipment and items available for you to customise these NFTs. These items were parts of a driver’s attire or a car’s appearance.

As for the in-game currency, the entire mechanism revolves around a single token:

  • REVV: It is an in-game currency working on ERC-20. REV worked for players to pay entry fees or purchase various items.
Yes, there will also be GAS fees for you. The game is planning on moving to Solana blockchain for your ease.

How to buy and sell

You will need a MetaMask or something similar to work with the browser. It will allow you to provide the gas fees. You will also have to buy and convert ETH to REVV. However, there’s no need to buy an entire unit of ETH. You can purchase bits and points then convert them to REVV.

F1 Delta Time NFTs are also available on OpenSea for you to purchase.

Currently, the game is down, which might be due to the migration of the next phase. We may see it surface again.

Play in a guild

There’s no doubt that F1 Delta Time became one of the most costly games to play due to Ethereum and its popularity. The fast-paced racing game with intricate maps and leaderboard might not return, but others could take its place. So, don’t lose the opportunity.

You can join Balthazar, a fast-growing NFT gaming platform that is working on empowering the members (Wizards). Balthazar is working on building a reliable and sustainable community focused on wealth building.

FAQs

Is F1 Delta Time down?

Yes. The developing team decided to shut down the game because they failed to renew the Formula 1 License. However, if they manage to secure it the next time, the game could return.

What is REVV Racing?

REVV Racing is the new variation of F1 Delta Time. The name change is due to the company failing to secure an F1 license. Many players of F1 Delta Time will get NFTs reimbursed and compensated for participating in REVV Racing.

Does F1 Delta Time use F1 cars and drivers?

Not real cars and drivers, but NFTs. However, after porting to REVV Racing, there aren’t any more F1 cars and drivers. There are typical sports and race cars for you to purchase and work around with.
