Chess Universe

Chess Universe has soft and hard currency called Coins and Gems, both are used to buy items, unlock game levels, and bet with other chess players. Gems are a collection of 100 coins and are only available in the Chess Universe app, these are used to unlock academy towers and purchase other in-game boosters. To earn Coins and other rewards, players must win in one of the four gameplays of Chess Universe: Play vs. Friend, Play vs. Computer, Play Online, and Academy.

Each gameplay offers users to play chess with friends virtually or face-to-face by using the one on one feature in which two players can face off using only one device, they can also use Practice Matches with their own set of difficulty, time, and rules. Chess Universe’s gameplays offer three levels against a computer-generated opponent, Easy, Medium, and Hard, users can also play against other players with similar ELO (strength of a player) located in the Tavern with different sets of rules and limited moves. Other available modes are Bullet, Blitz, Rapid, and Easy Tempo, games that are time-measured. Academy or also called the “Tower” is a game mode similar to Play vs. Computer because it also has three levels to choose from Easy, Medium, and Hard which all have 7 different selections in them depending on the player’s preference.
